Light Yellow '77 Turbo @ BaT

Bring a Trailer is featuring a 1977 Turbo Carrera in a rare Light Yellow paint color. Details from the auction company follow:
This 1977 Porsche 930 Turbo Carrera is an early US-market car with under 37k miles from new. This example had previously been with its second owner since 1980 and is mechanically and cosmetically stock apart from the exhaust. This Turbo Carrera was built in March of 1977 and features its original turbocharged, non-intercooled 3.0L flat-six. The car is finished in Light Yellow over black, and the 4-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels through an optional limited slip differential, all verified by the included Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The selling dealer is now offering this Turbo Carrera with a clean Connecticut title.

The Light Yellow (86) paintwork is believed to be largely original, though some areas were touched up during the second owner’s time with the car due to marks picked up while stored in their garage. Original 16″ Fuchs wheels are fitted, along with standard US-market lighting.

The chip guards on the rear quarters remain intact and free of age-related wear. The black plastic trim, spoilers, and bumper overriders all show well with little evidence of fading or cracking.

Turbo Carrera nameplate was dropped after 1977 and replaced with simple Turbo script on the decklid. The early cars also carried at 930 chassis number.

The interior is unmodified and retains the original switchgear, radio, steering wheel, and instruments. The dash appears to be in good condition with no warping apparent on the upper surfaces.

The black leather (68) seats are in good condition for their age, with some wear evident on the driver’s seat bottom and bolsters. The optional electric sunroof works correctly, and can be seen in the open positions in the photo gallery below.

The original tool kit is included and appears complete as can be seen above.

1977 was the final year for the 3.0L non-intercooled 930. The engine made 256 horsepower when new and the early 930s had a listed curb weight of just 2641 pounds. This car is stock apart from an aftermarket exhaust, and is said to run and drive very well.

Registration documentation from the previous owner dates to the early 1980s, and helps verify the long-term ownership history.

The CoA can be seen above and lists the options as US equipment, limited slip differential, electric sunroof, and Pirelli tires.
